    Doug has over 30 years of experience. As a specialist in claims, negotiations, and change orders, Doug brings renowned insight, sensitivity, and practical knowledge to his projects to ensure fairness and equitable outcomes for all parties involved. He has been involved in all major contracts on the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge New East Span. Delivery of these contracts involved hundreds of millions of dollars in change orders and high-stake negotiations, all of which could not be possible without Doug.

    Yong is an expert scheduler with over 28 years of experience. He has an incredible ability to break down complicated projects into their most constituent parts, streamlining project management and ensuring timely project delivery. Although highly technical, Yong’s unique ability to distill schedules in an illuminating way makes him one of the most sought after schedulers in the state. He has worked on a variety of high profile projects, including various contracts of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, the Transbay terminal, and the 101 Express Lanes.

    Craig has over 35 years of experience as a resident engineer, construction manager, and Superintendent of the Division of Maintenance of Marin County. Craig’s approach is deeply informed by the field and construction, and he is adept at forming relations with all personnel on a job, from subcontractors to project owners. This unusual skill set puts him at the vanguard of every project he works on. Craig is also dedicated to developing expertise on every aspect of a job, underpinning his management of complicated work. His knowledge of fiber optic systems has made him integral to the construction, management, and maintenance of the tolling lanes in the Bay Area.

    Position: Construction Manager (multiple openings)

    Job Location: Zoon Engineering, Inc., 3960 Adeline Street, Suite 3, Emeryville, CA 94608

    With a high degree of independent decision-making capability and minimum supervision the Senior Construction Manager will be responsible for:

    1. Managing the successful implementation & completion of different Infrastructure construction projects for various agencies (City, County & Caltrans etc.);

    2. Work collaboratively with the construction management team, contractors, client and stakeholders to resolve major construction issues. Continually review overall project risks and mitigation measures with the project team in an effort to eliminate or minimize such risks;

    3. Manage Construction Contract between the client and the Contractor and arbitrate conflicts and potential claims;

    4. Provide project controls and project documentation services including requests for information, submittals, changes orders, contract schedules, and cost estimating;

    5. Handling day to day field operations issues in a timely manner;

    6. Develop daily, weekly & monthly construction progress reports, providing information on construction progress, schedule status, cost/budget status, and quality assurance activities;

    7. Management of field staff, including inspectors and office engineers and CM team to perform quality assurance inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on all phases of construction;

    8. Coordination of field testing of construction materials and with different utility companies, geotechnical & environmental agencies as required;

    9. Development of change directives, change orders and change notices, including finding of facts and all supporting documentation; and

    10. Travel required to unanticipated project sites in California.

    This position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or closely related field, and Two (2) years, experience as a Civil/Project Engineer or Construction Manager, or closely related occupation.

    Must have experience with:

    1. Scheduling Software: Primavera P6 or Microsoft P6;

    2. Caltrans Plans & Specifications Experience;

    3. SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program), Water Board, Safety & Labor Compliance regulations;

    4. MUTCD & Caltrans Lane Closure System;

    5. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); and

    6. Bluebeam.
