The Bay Lights

Zoon Engineering led the installation of 25,000 individually addressable LED lights on the vertical suspender cables of the West Span of the Bay Bridge, commemorating its 75th anniversary. Our expertise was crucial in bringing this vision to life, particularly our knowledge of the Caltrans District 4 encroachment permit process.

We supported the Bay Lights Team throughout the project, including the initial environmental study, project development, cost estimates, and the selection of the design/build team. Our collaboration with the contractor and design team involved preparing detailed plans and specifications. Additionally, we managed construction activities and coordinated all work with adjacent contracts for the New East Span of the Bay Bridge.
