Bay Area Express Lanes

Zoon Engineering served as the construction manager for the civil and backhaul contracts of the I-680 Express Lanes, valued at $34 million, and the I-880 Express Lanes, valued at $43 million. We oversaw the construction of a combined 75 miles of express lanes, which included the installation of fiber optics, lighting, tolling equipment, and both static and dynamic signage, along with roadway widening and striping.

Additionally, on the I-101 Express Lane Project, valued at $551 million, we collaborated with key stakeholders, partnering with the contractor and Caltrans to ensure the successful delivery of the fiber optic tolling system. Our expertise in tolling systems has been integral to the project’s success, allowing us to mitigate system deficiencies, enhance cross-contract coordination, and maintain the project schedule.
