Zoon Engineering managed all aspects of construction for this pedestrian overcrossing. The skewed structure spans eight lanes of Highway 101 and includes the construction of a sophisticated falsework system, as well as the installation of electrical signals, lighting, and drainage and utility relocations.

We oversaw the project budget and schedule, ensuring compliance with FHWA and Caltrans requirements. Our team coordinated all source inspection and materials testing, working closely with Caltrans oversight engineers to guarantee project compliance.

Zoon Engineering collaborated extensively with Caltrans construction managers on adjacent projects in the Highway 101 corridor, facilitating the lane and full freeway closures required for falsework erection. By identifying and eliminating unnecessary work items, such as the relocation of a waterline, we were able to complete the project two months ahead of schedule and under the $10 million budget.
